The Sensor Networks Research Laboratory (S.N.R.L.) aims at the design and implementation of efficient algorithms for wireless sensor networks, the development of experimental sensor networks, the implementation of the relevant software (application development and remote management environments, simulators and middleware) and the development of real life applications and demonstration application. The SensorsLab, has already, designed, developed and implemented algorithms for crucial problems (data propagation, minimization of energy dissipation, obstacle avoidance, tracking of mobile entities and mobility management) as well as systems and applications for wireless sensor networks, such as simDust, WebDust, ShareSense and TRAILS.
Currently, S.N.R.L.
participates in five research projects founded either by the European Union
or the
The SensorsLab maintains
international cooperations with important universities and prestigious research
centers, such as, the universities of Researchers from S.N.R.L. have co-initiated major relevant international conferences (e.g. ALGOSENSORS : International Workshop on Algorithmic Aspects of Wireless Sensor Networks, and DCOSS : IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing in Sensor Systems), while they have exhaustively published in major international competitive journals, conferences and books. Assistant Professor Sotiris Nikoletseas , is the Director of the SensorsLab while the Technical Manager is Dr. Ioannis Chatzigiannakis . Currently, the personnel of the laboratory consists of two faculty members, 1 postdoctoral researcher and 6 postgraduate students-Ph.D. candidates. S.N.R.L. was founded on November 2007 and constitutes an organic part of the Research Unit 1 (?Foundations of Computer Science, Relative Technologies and Applications?) of R.A.C.T.I. . |
